I follow another religion. Can I join an ayahuasca ceremony?
Yes. You can take part in an ayahuasca ceremony at Expansão Infinita whatever your religion, or even if you have none. UCCAI is a spiritualist and universalist space, and here no one has to leave their faith at the door.
Many people arrive with this question, sometimes afraid of betraying their own beliefs. It helps to understand how our space sees this.
A point of light for every path
UCCAI · Universo Consciência Cristal Arco-Íris was born in Goiânia in 2011 as a point of light open to all people and all religions. At the root of everything is a simple idea: we are all one.
This means there is no separation between people, nor between the paths that lead to love. Our space does not ask you to exchange your faith for another one. It welcomes who you already are.
No one needs an intermediary to reach the sacred
One of the teachings of our space is the direct connection with the sacred. The connection you are looking for is already within you. In the ceremony, the medicine does not replace your prayer, your saint or your way of praying. Your faith comes with you.
The same goes for those who have no religion. The ceremony is a space for listening and for meeting yourself, and it does not require you to believe in anything before you arrive.
What the ceremony asks of you
The ceremony asks for respect, openness and truth. Respect for the medicine and the tradition. Openness to live the experience without fixed expectations. And truth in the interview, sharing your story and your health honestly.
The use of ayahuasca in Brazil is religious and regulated by CONAD Resolution No. 1/2010. That is why each person goes through an interview and a health questionnaire before receiving the medicine. This has nothing to do with your faith: it has to do with your care.
Science and spirit walk together
Our space also believes that faith does not need to deny reason, and reason does not need to deny the spirit. You can arrive with questions, with doubts and with your critical sense. All of that is welcome.
