How to travel to Goiânia, Brazil, for an ayahuasca ceremony

To reach Goiânia, most international travelers fly into São Paulo (Guarulhos) or Brasília and take a short connection to Goiânia airport. We recommend arriving at least one day before the ceremony and leaving one day after. Before you buy your ticket, have your interview with our guardian: that is where your dates are planned with you.
Expansão Infinita has welcomed people from all over Brazil and from other countries for 15 years. This guide gathers what people coming from far away ask us most.
First the interview, then the ticket
No one joins a ceremony without a prior interview. For people abroad, it is held by video. In the conversation, our guardian gets to know your story, goes through the health questionnaire with you and helps you choose dates that fit your trip.
Our team speaks English and supports you in your language from the first contact. The ceremonies themselves are held in Portuguese.
That is why the best path is to write to us first and buy your ticket afterwards.
Flights
- From abroad: most international flights arrive through São Paulo (Guarulhos) or Brasília. From Portugal, there are direct flights from Lisbon to both cities.
- The last leg: from São Paulo or Brasília, a short connection takes you to Goiânia airport.
- By road: Brasília is about 200 km away, also reachable by car.
How long to stay
We recommend arriving at least one day before the ceremony and leaving one day after. The day before is for resting from the journey and arriving calm. The day after is for integrating the experience without rushing back to your routine.
Where to stay
Each person arranges their own flights and accommodation: Expansão Infinita does not sell travel packages. During the interview, our team suggests places to stay and trusted drivers near our space.
What not to pack
Expansão Infinita does not sell or ship medicine abroad, and you should never carry any in your luggage: in many countries this can be a crime. The medicine is received here, within the ceremony.
Is ayahuasca legal in Brazil?
Yes. The religious use of ayahuasca is recognized in Brazil and regulated by CONAD Resolution No. 1/2010. Our space follows these rules: strictly religious use and a required prior interview.
Why people travel this far
There may be a place closer to you. Those who travel to Goiânia look for 15 years of path, an interview before every ceremony and support afterwards. The medicine is sacred, but the space and the way the ceremony is guided must be sacred too.
