Private or group ayahuasca ceremony: which to choose

A private ceremony is for someone who needs time of their own, at their own pace, with support before, during and after. A group ceremony is a shared experience, in which the strength of the circle holds each person. At Expansão Infinita, the private ceremony is called Espelho da Alma® (Mirror of the Soul) and the group ceremony is called Tear de Luz (Loom of Light).

Both are ayahuasca ceremonies, guided by the same spiritual line and with the same prior interview. What changes is the way you live the night.

Espelho da Alma: the private ceremony

In Espelho da Alma, the ceremony is entirely yours. The guidance follows your timing, your story and the intention you arrived with.

It is usually the path for someone who:

• arrives with a specific question about their own life, such as a career direction or a family conflict that keeps repeating;
• feels they need privacy to open up;
• is coming from far away and wants to make the most of the trip;
• is receiving the medicine for the first time and prefers closer guidance.

One person came looking for direction in their career. Through the preparation and the ceremony, they found the strength to lift their emotional state and reconnect with their own inner strength, from beginning to end.

Tear de Luz: the group ceremony

Tear de Luz takes place once a month, on the Saturday of the full moon. It is a shared experience of reconnecting with the Web of Life: each person lives their own process, and the whole circle holds itself together.

It is usually the path for someone who:

• feels the call to be in community;
• already knows the medicine and wants to return to it regularly;
• is strengthened by seeing other people on their own crossing too.

How to decide

Neither choice is better than the other. There is the one that makes sense for where you are now. If you are unsure, that is exactly what the interview is for: our guardian gets to know your story, understands what you are looking for and chooses the path together with you.

The medicine is sacred, but the space and the way the ceremony is guided must be sacred too. In both formats, that care is what holds your night.
